12 Days – Tour from Casablanca Grand Morocco Tour

Day 1: Casablanca city tour.

Depends on the time of your arrival, Our driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. You may have time to discover some places of Casablanca with our driver. Take a stroll along the Boulevard Ain Diab, the beach promenade that follows the Atlantic (called Morocco’s ‘Miami’) to the Hassan II Mosque. Our Casablanca city tour will be organized the next day, so you can take advantage of the timing and hang out in the economic capital of Morocco. watch the sunset behind the architectural marvel. Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – the blue city Chefchaouen

Casablanca is one of the best Morocco cities and is home to the magical Hassan II Mosque. It sits on a big rock facing the Atlantic ocean. What characterizes this Mosque is that it has the tallest Minaret in the world. It is about 690 feet (210 m). In addition, it is is one of the few mosques in the country that non-Muslims can enter.

In the morning, we will have a tour around the city. You will explore the Hassan II Mosque. You will admire the exquisitely ornate artisanship: hand-carved stone and wood, intricate marble floor detailing, and gilded cedar ceilings. After that, you leave to visit one imperial city of Morocco, Rabat. You will visit the magnificent Kasbah of Oudayas, Hassan Tower with its uncompleted minaret, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Hassan II as well as the Chellah Necropolis.

Later on, you leave Rabat behind and continue northward to the blue city of Chefchaouen. Overnight at you traditional Riad in Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Chefchaouen city tour

In 12 days tour from Casablanca, we always include Chrfchaouen. This beautiful city is mesmerizing and it is 4 hours drive from Rabat. On the way, you will be impressed by the landscape change from flat plains and rolling hills to the rocky terrain of the Rif Mountains. You will enjoy Chefchaouen’s narrow, winding streets and blue-washed buildings. In addition, its relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals add that extra sparkle to the city. In the third day, you spend your time hanging out in the old medina along the northern hillside and enjoy a meal in Plaza Outa el Hammam. As the day draws to an end, you make your way to the abandoned Spanish Mosque to enjoy one last view over Chefchaouen as the sun sets behind the mountains. Overnight at your traditional Riad with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, head south towards a short distance to the captivating Roman ruins of Volubilis. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Volubilis is a stretching complex that has stayed implausibly well protected for centuries. It was established in the 3rd century BC and was once one of the most distant parts of the Roman Empire. Volubilis was a flowered city in its day before it was deserted nearly one thousand years later.

You will discover its mosaic floors, basilica, temple and triumphal arch. After that, you move to see the second historic imperial city of Morocco, Meknes. During the tour, you discover the impressive Bab al-Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After that, you move to scout the old quarter of the city and wander its traditional markets. Later, you visit the Madrasa (school) El Bou Inania which was built in the 14th century. An iconic instance of Islamic architecture, the school provides a nice sight from its rooftop.

In the evening, you travel to Fez and you begin a new Morocco travel adventure. Overnight at your traditional Riad in the heart of the old medina.

Days 5: Fes – Exploring the Imperial City and medieval Medina

The 12 days tour from Casablanca always preserves 2 days for Fez. In fact, Fes is unique and one day is not sufficient to explore this marvel city. The streets of Fes embody magic, charm, and enchantment. The medina in itself is a magic space like in dreams. It is impressively large and complicated. In Fes, you will get lost in the past. However, before heading to the old medina, you will take the time to see the Merenid Tombs situated in the north of the city and enjoy the sight of historic Fez. You may then enter into Fes el Bali (old fez )through the historic gate Bab Boujeloud.

What makes fez distinguished from other cities is that it has the most complete traditional medina in the Arab world and is still intact since it was founded over 1000 years ago. Perhaps, Fez is the most interesting and exciting city to visit in the world.

Our guide will teach you many things about the history and culture of the city as you navigate through its narrow streets. You enter through Bab Boujeloud’s gate to head to the main thoroughfare of Talâa Kebira. There, you will notice the touch of the past as you make your way across the shops and souks. You will visit the tanneries and Chouara Tannery. Next, you climb to the rooftop of a nearby leather shop for a better sigh of the 11th-century stone pots filled with dye and men at work still using centuries-old techniques.

After that, you make your way to the 14th-century Al Attarine Madrasa, a marvel instance of Moroccan architecture and artisanship showcasing intricate zellij tilework. From there, you find your way to one of the oldest still-operating universities in the world, Al-Qarawiyyin University (859 CE) next to the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque.

Day 6: Fes: Museums, Ceramics and Tile Collective, and gardens

In the second day, you will explore other parts of Fez. You start by visiting the Batha Museum. The Museum is home to a collection of traditional Moroccan arts and crafts. It is located in a 19th-century palace and the handy crafts include carved wood, zellij, and local pottery. You will spend some time in Jnan Sbil, an Andalusian-style garden, before you head to the old Jewish quarter, Mellah. You continue your tour towards Ville “Nouvelle” and discover the dramatic change in architecture.

After that, you make a tour to Ceramics and Tile Collective to learn how local artisans make wares, from shaping the clay to painting the designs. In addition, you will watch the tile masters at work: fitting together small pieces of tile to form intricate mosaics.

Day 7: a trip from Fez to Ifran, Ziz Valley, and the Sahara Desert

In the seventh day of our 12 days tour from Casablanca, you will travel to Merzouga Desert. Merzouga is well known for its camel ride and desert camping. After breakfast, you start your travel heading to Ifran. You stop there to take pictures before you continue your way to the cedar forest of Azrou where you stop to see wild monkeys. You can hand feed them and take pictures. After that, you cross the wild forests through the Middle Atlas mountains before you arrive to Midelt where you stop for lunch.

After one hour, You travel towards Erg Chebbi via the Tizi n’Talremt pass to get into the Ziz Valley, known for its hidden oases and palm tree clusters. Along the road, you will see many fortified houses known as ksars—built to protect precious wares, including gold, salt, and spices. You continue to Erfoud, a city famous for its date festival and fossil mining. You stop there if you like to visit some corporations and meet local artisans.

End of your day at Erg Chebbi, a widespread sea of sand dunes covering a zone of 13.5 square miles. When you reach Merzouga, your camel ride adventure will begin. You ride camels through Erg Chebbi dunes to reach your lux camps in the heart of the Sahara desert. On your way, you will see the most beautiful desert sunset.

You will be welcomed at your lux camp and you will enjoy a delicious Berber dinner. Relaxing by the campfire, you will enjoy Berber music and dance. You can sleep in your camp or under the starry sky.

Day 8: Desert adventures, Rissani market, and Todra Gorge

After a vividly night, you will be woken up early the next day to catch the desert sunrise. Then you will start your desert adventure by visiting Khamliya, a typical Saharan village populated by nice black people brought from sub Sahara during the slavery era. There, you will experience traditional drumming music and dancing before taking a short walk around the village.

After that, you leave the dunes of Erg Chebbi behind and you drive towards Rissani. If your travel collides with Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, you will have a chance to visit this traditional souk. It is believed to be the largest in the south of Morocco and you may find some traditional souvenirs to buy. Then, you head to Tinghir, a desert village town which offers awesome sights of the surrounding towns hugging the length of the extensive river oasis (30 miles or 48 km of palm trees).

Later on, you arrive at Todra Gorge. You will enjoy Toudra river and almost 1000 feet high rocks facing the sky. You can enjoy a leisurely walk in and around the gorge and relax in the cool waters of the shallow river below.

Day 9: Dades Valley, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and Marrakesh

After breakfast, you start your travel driving along the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. You stop in Kela’a M’gouna to admire the cultivated rose bushes. There, you will visit some rose corporations to have an idea about the process of converting rose petals into rose water and oil. After that, you drive to Ouarzazate, the movie capital of North Africa. There, you discover the other face of Morocco and you see the amazing places where Hollywood movies are made.

Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Black Hawk Down…etc are just a couple of movies made in Ouarzazate. After, you will have a guided movie studio tour where you will visit the “Musée du Cinema” to learn more about the filmmaking process and history of the area.

Later, you move to explore Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kasbah contains many old Ksours date back to the 11th century. The kasbah will impress you and you admire the unique architecture of Ait Ben Haddou. You stroll in the alleys and passageways in the late afternoon after the day crowds have left. You can also climb up to the old Granary—an excellent vantage point to see the kasbah and surrounding area. Game of Thrones fans may want to trek down to the river to see the gates featured in the popular HBO series.
Finally, You drive towards Marrakech, the impressive city of Morocco. You cross the sneaky roads of Tizi N’tichka to arrive in the evening to Marrakech.

You can relax in your Riad before the charm start. At night, Jemaa el-Fna Square comes alive with musicians, performers, snake charmers, games, and food stalls, a catch-all of entertainment! If you want to enjoy the spectacle from a distance, choose one of the many cafés surrounding the square and enjoy a cup of mint tea and a meal.

Day 10: Marrakech: Exploring the Red City

If you travel to Morocco, Marrakech will hypnotize you. It is nicknamed the “Red City” for its 1000-year old red sandstone city walls and buildings. Indeed, Marrakech was once an important trading capital for tribes of the Atlas mountains and still today an important tourist attraction in Morocco.

Your tour of Marrakech will be with our professional guide. You start your tour from Jemaa el-Fna Square. The Morocco travel guide will explain to you the routs of the square and the cultural impact of the city. Then, you head to Koutoubia Mosque and Majorelle Gardens. Day 11: Essaouira excursion

After breakfast in Marrakech, we will travel to Essaouira, a city on the coastline of Morocco portrayed as Astrapor in the Game of Thrones. On the road, you will see many goats climbing trees for Argan nuts.

You size the opportunity to visit some Women’s Cooperative of Argan since the region is known for its argan oil. Women will teach you some benefits and applications of the oil, from culinary and cosmetics to medicines.

After several stops on the way, you will reach Essaouira; a humble white town located in the Atlantic ocean. You will explore its ramparts named “Skalla fortress.” Then you stroll around the narrow alleys of the Medina, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Lunch at some traditional restaurant ordering freshly bought fish.

Essaouira is famous as the ” City of the wind ” and it attracts surfers from different parts of the world. its architecture reflects the Roman, Phoenician, and Portuguese influences since it was occupied by these civilizations. Indeed, it’s a small town with much history.

In the afternoon, we will take the road back to Marrakesh. Overnight in your Riad and you can enjoy Jamaa El Fna Again.

Day 12: end of 12 days tour from Casablanca

This will be the end of our 12 Days Tour from Casablanca. Depending on your flight details, you may discover the other parts of Marrakech or seeing again the places you liked with our guide.
