6 Days – Exploring Fes, Desert and Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
In the first day of your tour from Fes to Marrakech, you will wake up at 8 a.m and you start your travel. You drive towards Merzouga via the Middle Atlas Mountains. You will drive through Ifrane, a beautiful city named “the Switzerland of Morocco.” You stop there to take pictures before you head up to the cedar forests of Azrou where you stop to hand feed wild monkeys. After that, you continue to Midelt where you will stop to have lunch. Then, you will drive through the Ziz River and stop to see the Ziz Gorges on your way to Merzouga.

Day 2: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani “ Erg Chebbi”
In the second day of your desert tour, you explore the desert region and the marvel Erg Chebbi dunes. The Morocco Travel driver will take you in a tour to experience the desert dunes. In addition, he will take you to meet Berber people and discover their whole new dimension of life. They are still live in caves and tents.
After visiting the Berbers, The driver will take you to the village of Khamlia. There, you discover other secrets which Moroccan Sahara hides. In Khamlia, you meet nice people brought from sub-sahara during the slavery period. You will enjoy their music and dance alonside with a cup of tea. At lunch, you will have a traditional Berber pizza.
In the afternoon, another adventure is waiting for you. Get ready to have a camel ride since camels will take you in a tour in the desert. The camel guide will accompany you to nowhere in the Sahara where you will have to spend your night. After one hour ride, you reach your lux camp. Along the way, you will watch the most beautiful sunset in your life.
At night, you will have a traditional tagine for dinner, you drink delicious mint tea, and listen to traditional Berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara desert.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorges
The third day of your travel from Fes to Marrakech will be amazing. You will discover other hidden parts of Morocco. You wake up early to watch the sunrise. After that, you will have a traditional Berber breakfast in your lux camp. Then, you enjoy camel ride again so that camels will take you back to your hotel in Merzouga. Before you start your travel to Todra Gorges, you will take a shower. Then, you travel with The Morocco Travel driver via palm lined valleys of Tourog and Tinjdad to arrive finally to Todra Gorge. You will take a walk in the Todra Gorges and have lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to your accommodation in the Dades Gorge.

Day 4: Dades Gorge – El Kelaa Magona – Skoura – Ouarzazate
After breakfast in your hotel, you take a walk in the gorges and then drive to see the nomad caves. You continue your desert tour via El Kelaa Magona, Valley of the Roses and the Skoura oasis to arrive finally to Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech
In the fifth day of your journey from Fes to Marrakech, you will visit Taourirt Kasbah before departing to Ait Ben Haddou. Ait Ben Haddou is a fortified village served as a background for many Hollywood movies. Its Kasbahs, named Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, has been selected by UNESCO as World Heritage site. It incarnates the traditionalism and old architecture.
When you finish visiting the Kasbah, you drive to visit some traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. You will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech city.

Day 6: Marrakech – Essaouira – Marrakech
In the last day of your desert tour, you will visit an interesting city which served as an outstanding background for Game of Thrones. It is a Essaouira. On the way, you will get the chance to see goats climbing the Argan trees looking for nets. In addition, you can visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil before you get to Essaouira. this city remains one of Morocco’s best-kept secrets. You walk in its traditional alleys and for sure you will be amazed by the place. You see the bustling historical center surrounded by ancient city walls…. In addition, you will see its traditional fishing port. In the evening, you come back to Marrakech.
