Day trip Meknes and Volubilis from Fes
Our trip from Fes will take us to explore the imperial cities of Meknes before heading to Volubilis. We will visit the old Medina, Bab El-Mansour gate, and the lively Lahdim Square, an open-air folklore place where the storytellers, musicians, acrobats, and snake enchanters entertain flocks of audience. Then, we will visit 17th century’s Bab BerdieyinneGate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the HeriEs-Souani that was the granaries of the kingMoulay Ismail, supplied by a water dam Sahrijswani. The Granaries and Sahrijwere used to water and feed his horses, people and slaves.
A half-hour drive will take us to travel back to the ancient times, to the left behind roman ruins of Volubilis (Walili) site. Volubilis was a Roman city dating back to 3rdcentury before Christmas (BC) listed as UNESCO’s heritage site. At the end of the day, we will take you back to Fes.
