Day 1: Meet you in Tangier port and drive to Chefchaouen

Your journey from Tangier to Marrakech will start when we meet you at the Airport. You will explore some local sights of the town before you head to Chefchaouen. On the way, you will visit the Caves of Hercules. Next, you drive to Tetouan, a Berber name meaning “the eyes”. You will stop in Tetouan if you need to buy some drinks or to eat something before you finish your journey in Chefchaouen.

Chefchaouen is the prettiest city in Morocco and you will definitely like it. It is nicknamed the blue city due to its blue walls. In addition to its beauty, its relaxed atmosphere makes it one of the most appealing cities in Morocco.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Fez

After breakfast in Chefchaouen, you leave the city behind and you travel to Fez. You stop in Meknes to visit the Roman Ruins of Volubilis. The ruins remained substantially intact until an earthquake devastated them in the mid-18th century. After that, you travel to Meknes, one of the four Imperial cities of Morocco. You will visit there El Hedim Square, which is a small version of Jamaa El Fna of Marrakech, the Mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismail, and the Old Medina before departing to Fes. Your accommodations and dinner will be in your hotel in Fes.

Day 3 – Fez guided tour

After breakfast in your Riad, The Morocco Travel guide will take you on an adventure to discover the oldest surviving city in the world. You will visit the most remarkable places such as the Mellah, the Medina, and the exterior of the Kairaouine Mosque. In addition, you will visit the University of al-Karaouine which is considered to be the oldest university in the world. Next, you will visit the BouInaniaMedrasa, the most famous Quranic school in Morocco. Later, you will visit the Chouwara Tannery.

Fez is amazing. you will have lunch in some traditional restaurants in the old medina. Overnight at your hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Fez – Ifrane-Cedar Forest-Erfoud-Merzouga-Erg Chebbi

After breakfast, you leave your hotel towards Erg Chebbi dunes. You cross Ifrane where you stop to take pictures. The city is nicknamed “Switzerland of Morocco” because it is so clean and its weather is similar to the weather of Switzerland. After that, you travel to Azrou where you stop in its cedar forest.

In Azrou, you will be surprised by the Barbarians monkeys jumping here and there. You can even take pictures and feed them. Next, you drive to Midelt where you stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, you drive to Merzouga via Ziz valley. You will be amazed by the panoramic view of houses and kasbahs hiding and flourishing between mountains. You stop in Erfoud to visit the old market of dates and fossils workers. Later, you reach Merzouga. Overnight at your traditional hotel.

Day 5: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Camp in Erg Chebbi – Camel Ride

In the fifth day of your tour in Morocco, you will experience a camel ride and desert camping. You start your adventure after breakfast by having a tour around Erg Chebbi dunes. Then, you will take a short ride to Khamlia; a small village in the desert populated by black people.

The village of Khamlia will allow you to see the other dimension of life. You get an insight into how people live in Morocco. You drink a cup of tea and you enjoy Gnawa music. People living there are originated in West Africa but brought as slaves to Morocco.

After visiting Khamlia, you will travel to Rissani. There, you will visit the small oasis town of Rissani which is close to the northwest edge of the Sahara. Rissani is also the capital of Tafilalet and it is known for its big market which is considered to be the biggest in the south. You can find there jewelry, souvenirs, gifts, spices, art, and crafts.

You will have a Berber Pizza as lunch. It is called “Medfouna”. After that, you will come back to the hotel in Merzouga and prepare for another adventure in Erg Chebbi. Later, you will enjoy a camel ride escapade and camels will take you to the heart of the Sahara desert. Along the way of camel ride, you watch the sunset where the shadows of the sun mix with the golden sands of Erg Chebbi. After one hour, you reach your lux camp. You will be welcomed by Berbers and you will enjoy one episode of Arabian nights. You will have a rest in your lux camp before dinner. However, after dinner, you will dance and sing with Berbers under the beautiful sky of Merzouga. You can sleep in your lux camp or under the sky.

Day 6: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Ouarzazate

The 6th day of your journey from Tangier to Marrakech will be as exciting as the other journeys. Morocco Travel‘s guide will wake you up in the morning to see the sunrise. After that, you will enjoy a traditional breakfast in your lux camp before you leave. Then, you leave your lux camp behind and ride camels again to the hotel in Merzouga. You will have a shower before you continue your travel to Ouarzazate.

Ouarzazate is one of the best attractions and the majority of tours in Morocco make it as a favorite destination. Why? because it is simply captivating. Therefore, it is not a surprise that the best Hollywood movies were shot there. Lawrance of Arabia, the Mummy, Game of Thrones…. all have used the area of Ouarzazate and especially Ait Ben Haddou as a background.

However, before reaching Ouarzazate, you will visit Todra Gorge; which is the highest gorges in Morocco. Then you will see the canal of irrigation in Jorf. After that, you travel across the Valley of Roses. You will see the cooperative of women where you can find all kind of rose products and bio cosmetics. Later, you reach Ouarzazate where you will spend the night.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – the Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

This day will be exceptional because you are going to see another best tourist attraction in Morocco. Ait Ben Haddou is a landmark and symbolizes the traces of the past. Its Kasbah, named Kasbah of AIT BEN HADDOU was kept as it is since the 18th century. You will explore this historical place which is also cited by UNESCO as a worldwide heritage site and you hang out in its magic alleys. Our long tours in Morocco often include this place.

You wake up early in the morning and you drive to visit Taourirte Kasbah. After that, you will visit the cinema studios of Atlas & CLA Studios where many movies were produced thus being called The Hollywood of Africa. Next, you depart to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou through Tizi Ntichka pass; an elevation of 2260m. You visit the UNESCO world heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. After that, you continue your travel to Marrakech. You stop in Taddart to have lunch at a Berber village in a panoramic restaurant. After that, you travel to Marrakech. Accommodation and dinner at your Hotel /Riad in Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech City Tour

Finally, your journey from Tangier to Marrakech arrived to its ending destination.

After having breakfast, you will have a tour with Morocco Travel ‘guide to explore the best of Marrakech. You will have the opportunity to discover the amazing old Medina. You will see the Majorelle Garden that host more than 15 bird species, many fountains, and a remarkable collection of cacti. The garden was once owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé between 1980 and 2008. After Yves Saint Laurent death in 2008, his ashes were scattered about in the Majorelle Garden. In addition, you will visit Marrakech’s most visited monument the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, Jamaa El Fnaa, and the New City of Marrakech – Gueliz. You will have lunch in a restaurant in the old medina before you continue your journey to discover the city. Your accommodations and dinner will be served at your Riad in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech – Essaouira

We included Essaouira in our tours in Morocco because this city has a special charm. It is a seaside fishing city in the touristy region of Marrakech. the city attracts a lot of yearly visitors, including the production crew of Game of Thrones who used the majestic city as a backdrop in some episodes. Rich in history, which can be seen predominantly in its beautiful coastal ramparts, and full of culture, famous in particular for its music, Essaouria boasts a range of relaxing and enjoyable things to do and see.

You will spend a nice day in Essaouira enjoying the culture, the space, and people. You will have lunch there. After that, you will have a city tour around the alleys of the medina. You will be amazed by its handicrafts, silver jewelry, and inlaid wood of Thuja. Overnight at hotel/riad with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 10: Essaouira – Marrakech airport
